Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using GrowTide. By using the App, you agree to be bound by these terms.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GrowTide mobile application ("App") and the growtide.app website (together, the "Services") provided by Manus Labs LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), a limited liability company registered in Utah, USA.

The way we collect, use, share, retain, and protect personal information — including any information collected from or about your child — is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You should read both documents before using the Services.

By downloading, installing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility, Parent Responsibility, and Acceptance

GrowTide is a family service designed for supervised use within a household. The Service is intended to be used by parents or guardians together with their children, not by children on a standalone basis. To use the Services, you must:

Only parents and legal guardians may create accounts. Children cannot create their own accounts and may not register on the Services independently. Children under the age of 13 may not create accounts or use the Service independently. All use of the Service by children must occur under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian through a Parent Account. All Child Profiles must be created and managed by a parent or guardian who has authenticated with their own credentials.

Children may only use the App under parental supervision. The App is designed for supervised family use. As the parent, you decide how, when, and on what device your child uses the App, and you are responsible for supervising that use as appropriate to your child's age and maturity. The App is not intended for independent or unsupervised use by a child.

By creating a Parent Account and providing information about a child, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian and that you are providing consent for the collection, use, and sharing of the child's information as described in the Privacy Policy.

You may not create accounts or use the Service in a way that circumvents the parental supervision requirements described in these Terms.

2. Description of Service

GrowTide is a family chore and rewards application that allows parents to assign jobs to children, track completion, manage rewards (coins, allowance, screen time, and custom rewards), and encourage responsibility through gamification mechanics including XP, ranks, badges, and avatars.

GrowTide is currently available on Google Play. iOS is in development. Features vary between the free tier and GrowTide Pro subscription. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Services at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of features.

We do not display third-party advertising to children within the Service. Any promotions within the Service are limited to GrowTide features or offerings and are not based on children's personal data.

3. Account Structure and Responsibilities

Parent Account

A "Parent Account" is the credentialed account a parent or legal guardian creates with their own email address and password. The Parent Account is the legal account holder for the family. The parent who creates the family is the initial account holder; additional parents may be invited and become co-parents on the same family (see Section 4 for details on the Owner role and co-parent permissions).

Child Profile

A "Child Profile" is a profile created by a parent inside the App for a child in the family. A Child Profile is not an independent account, has no login credentials with us, and cannot be created or modified by the child. Each Child Profile is created, configured, and may be deleted at any time by a parent in the family.

Ownership and control of family data

The parent or guardians on a family own and control all data within that family — including Parent Account profile information, all Child Profiles, jobs, rewards, allowance balances, and any photos or notes attached to jobs. Parents in the same family share visibility into family activity as described in our Privacy Policy. Parents may review, modify, export, or delete this data through the App's Settings, subject to the retention timelines described in the Privacy Policy.

The parent or legal guardian is the decision-maker for all data associated with Child Profiles, including decisions regarding the collection, use, and deletion of such data.

Your account responsibilities

4. Family Roles

A GrowTide family may include one or more parents. All parents in a family share equal visibility into the family's activity, including jobs, rewards, approvals, and each child's progress. One parent is designated as the Owner and has additional responsibilities for the family's subscription and roster.

Owner

Every family has exactly one Owner at any given time. The Owner is responsible for the family's GrowTide Pro subscription (if any) and can manage which parents are part of the family. The parent who originally created the family is the Owner by default.

Parents

Other parents in the family have the same day-to-day permissions as the Owner — they can create and approve jobs, manage rewards, and view all family activity. They do not manage the subscription or the parent roster.

How the Owner role is assigned and transferred

Subscription and ownership may diverge

The Owner role is managed within GrowTide. The underlying subscription is processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and remains tied to the app-store account that made the purchase. Transferring the Owner role inside the App does NOT move the subscription to a different app-store account. This means the Owner role and the payment method may be held by different parents — for example, if the original purchaser transfers the Owner role to a co-parent but the subscription continues to bill the original purchaser's app-store account. Each parent is responsible for their own app-store subscription management through their respective store.

Future family-management controls

We may introduce additional family-management controls in the future, including mechanisms for parents to leave or be removed from a family, with appropriate safeguards and notice. Any such controls will be documented in these Terms before they take effect.

5. Family Disputes and Relationships

GrowTide is a tool for families to coordinate chores, rewards, and allowances. We do not mediate disputes between co-parents, guardians, or other adults who share access to a family account. We are not a legal authority on custody, guardianship, parental rights, or family law, and nothing in the Services — including the Owner role, subscription billing arrangements, or access permissions — should be interpreted as establishing or altering any legal right between you and another adult.

You are solely responsible for decisions about which other adults you invite into your family, what access they have, and any consequences of those decisions. If a dispute arises between you and another adult in your family, you are responsible for resolving it between yourselves or through appropriate legal channels.

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to take action on a family account — including suspending access or preserving data — in response to a valid legal order, in response to clear evidence of harm to a child, or where we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law.

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

7. User-Submitted Content

The Services allow you to submit content including job completion photos and family or Child Profile information ("User Content"). You retain ownership of any User Content you submit.

By submitting User Content, you grant Manus Labs LLC a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content solely within the Services for the purpose of providing the service to your family. This license ends when you delete the content or your account.

Parents are responsible for all User Content submitted from their family — including content submitted from any Child Profile. Parents are expected to supervise content submitted by children (such as job completion photos), and any content uploaded from a Child Profile is treated, for the purposes of these Terms, as content submitted by the parent.

You agree that you will not submit, and will not allow any child in your family to submit, any User Content that is:

Right to remove content. We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, remove, refuse to display, or restrict access to any User Content that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, that may be unsafe or inappropriate for a child, or that we are required to remove by applicable law. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly submit such content. We are not obligated to monitor User Content, but we reserve the right to do so.

You represent and warrant that: (i) you own or have the right to submit the User Content, and (ii) the User Content does not violate any law or third-party rights. You are solely responsible for all User Content you submit.

8. Virtual Currency and Rewards

GrowTide uses a virtual coin and XP system as part of its gamification features. These virtual items have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are not transferable outside the App. Allowance balances tracked within the App represent amounts you as a parent have agreed to pay your children — Manus Labs LLC is not a party to those arrangements and accepts no liability for them.

Coin and XP balances, as well as rank progression based on XP, may be modified, reset, or discontinued at any time — for example, to fix bugs, update progression formulas, or correct accidental balance issues. Earned badges and earned avatars, once unlocked on a child's profile, are preserved and will not be removed when a GrowTide Pro subscription ends or when other features are modified. We are not liable for any loss of coin or XP balances resulting from account termination, inactivity, or changes to the Services.

No purchase of virtual items: Virtual coins, XP, ranks, badges, and avatars cannot be purchased with real money, either inside or outside the App. They are earned exclusively through job completions configured by parents. GrowTide Pro is a subscription that unlocks premium features (such as allowance rewards, screen time rewards, and additional avatars); it is not a purchase of virtual currency or any quantity of coins, XP, or other virtual items.

9. Subscriptions, Billing, and Refunds

Free Trial

GrowTide offers a 14-day free trial with full access to all features. No credit card is required for the trial. After the trial ends, access reverts to the free tier unless you subscribe to GrowTide Pro.

GrowTide Pro

GrowTide Pro is offered as a monthly or annual subscription. Current pricing — including any applicable local currency, taxes, and regional variations — is displayed in the Google Play Store or Apple App Store at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by country and are subject to change. You will always see the exact price in your local currency before completing any purchase.

Billing

Subscriptions are managed through the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iOS) via RevenueCat. Your payment method on file with your respective app store will be charged. We do not directly handle or store payment card information.

Subscription ownership

A GrowTide Pro subscription is tied to the app-store account that made the purchase, not to the family's Owner role inside the App. If the Owner role is transferred to another parent within GrowTide, billing for the subscription remains with the original purchaser's app-store account until that subscription is cancelled and a new subscription is purchased. See Section 4 ("Family Roles") for a full description of how the Owner role is assigned and transferred.

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date through your app store account settings.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play or the App Store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to Pro features until the period ends.

Grace Period

After a subscription lapses, premium features configured during an active subscription or trial are preserved — they continue to function but cannot be newly created or modified without an active subscription.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store per their respective refund policies. We do not offer refunds directly. Contact us at [email protected] if you have billing issues and we will assist where possible.

10. Intellectual Property

GrowTide and all its content — including but not limited to the App design, code, text, and branding — are owned by Manus Labs LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Certain graphical assets used in the App — including icons, avatars, and badge artwork — are licensed from third-party providers under commercial licenses and remain subject to their respective license terms. These assets may not be extracted, redistributed, or used outside of the App.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial family use in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of any App content.

11. Platform-Specific Terms (Apple App Store and Google Play)

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

If you downloaded the App from the Google Play Store, your use of the App is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. You acknowledge that Google is not responsible for the App and is not a party to these Terms.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Services may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by Manus Labs LLC. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We strongly advise you to review the privacy policy and terms of service of any third-party site you visit.

The App uses third-party services including Google Firebase, RevenueCat, and others as described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

GrowTide is a productivity and household-coordination tool, not an educational program, behavioral intervention, or therapeutic service. We do not guarantee, promise, or warrant any particular outcome from using the App — including but not limited to changes in your child's behavior, motivation, responsibility, character development, academic performance, financial habits, or any other personal outcome. Results vary by family. The App is intended to support parents in coordinating chores and rewards; the parent — not the App — is responsible for parenting decisions and outcomes.

The Service does not replace parental judgment. You remain solely responsible for decisions regarding your child's behavior, supervision, and development.

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant that any errors will be corrected or that the Services will meet your requirements.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Manus Labs LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Services.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Services shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Manus Labs LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, affiliates, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses — including reasonable attorneys' fees — arising out of or in any way connected with: (i) your access to or use of the Services; (ii) your violation of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right; (iv) any User Content you submit; or (v) any claim that your use of the Services caused damage to a third party.

This indemnification obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Services.

16. Termination and Data Deletion

Termination by us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in conduct harmful to other users, children, or the integrity of the Services.

Safety-based action. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts, including Child Profiles, where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect user safety or prevent misuse of the Service.

Termination by you. You may terminate your account at any time through the App's Settings. Parent Account deletion is immediate and permanent — all parent and family data is removed from our systems immediately. Child Profiles enter a 14-day restore window before being permanently and irreversibly purged.

Effect of termination. Upon termination — whether initiated by you or by us — your access to the Services ends, any GrowTide Pro features tied to your account stop being available going forward, and any virtual coins, XP, or balances tied to a deleted profile are forfeited. Subscription billing through your app store is governed by your app store's cancellation rules; ending your GrowTide account does not by itself cancel an active app-store subscription, and you remain responsible for cancelling that subscription through Apple or Google.

Data deletion details. For full details on what happens to your data after deletion — including retention timelines for each data category, the 14-day Child Profile restore window, and how to request deletion of any data not removable through the App — see our Privacy Policy.

17. Business Transfers

If Manus Labs LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or bankruptcy proceeding, your data and these Terms may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will provide notice before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Utah County, Utah, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

If you are located outside the United States, including in the European Union or the United Kingdom, nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable local consumer protection or data protection laws, including any non-waivable rights under the laws of your country of residence.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

The Family Roles model described in Section 4 of these Terms applies to all existing multi-parent families starting from the Last Updated date of these Terms. By default, the parent who originally created each existing family is the Owner. Any parent who was previously the sole subscriber in a multi-parent family may already be the Owner as of the effective date. You can review and, if needed, transfer the Owner role through the App's Settings.

20. Copyright Complaints (DMCA)

Manus Labs LLC respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users to do the same. We have registered a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office to receive notifications of claimed copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512.

If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes the following (a "DMCA Notice"):

We will respond promptly to valid DMCA Notices and may remove or disable access to material claimed to be infringing. We also have a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are repeat infringers.

Misrepresentations in a DMCA Notice may result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f). False notices may be referred for legal action.

21. Force Majeure

Manus Labs LLC is not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these Terms where such failure results from causes beyond our reasonable control — including acts of God, natural disasters, terrorism, war, riot, labor disputes, government action, power failures, internet or infrastructure outages, or failures of third-party service providers (including Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple, and Google).

22. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

23. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Manus Labs LLC regarding your use of the Service and supersede any prior agreements or understandings on the same subject.
